We made significant progress in the nursery over the weekend thanks to the help of the baby's grandmothers {our decorators} and Walker.
We headed to the Alabama Furniture Market in Calera on Saturday morning to look for a crib, and ended up bringing this beautiful one home. If you are in the market for furniture, this store is a must!
Mom also brought us a hand-me-down table that has been at the beach for the last 25 years or so. We think it will be perfect with a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware.
We also snagged these great curtains at World Market that match our fabric just perfectly!
Walker gave the nursery a fresh coat of paint on Saturday and it's finally beginning to take shape. Just a few more pieces to go!

24 Weeks
24 Weeks - Thursday, January 28th {about one foot long, just over 1 pound...about the length of an ear of corn}
There is no hiding the baby now! I wish I could stay this size for the next four months, but from what I understand, that is just wishful thinking. Considering the baby is currently around one pound, we have several pounds to go before May!

23 Weeks
23 Weeks - Thursday, January 20th
{over 11 inches long, over 1 pound...about as much as a large mango}
I went to the doctor again this week, and we listened to the baby's heartbeat again and measured my tummy for the first time. Baby Moss has been quite active, I'm curious if this is a sign of things to come!

Spaghetti Squash
We recently purchased a spaghetti squash {which was at least twice the current size of Baby Moss}! Tonight, we whipped up some Spaghetti Squash with Chunky Tomato Sauce, because the reviews claim the dish tastes even better than lasagna.
I was new to cooking spaghetti squash, so I browsed the web in search of some clear and concise directions. As it turns out, spaghetti squash is fairly easy to cook, and it's a great alternative to pasta noodles. Kathy Maister's Start Cooking Blog has a step by step tutorial to guide you through the process of cooking spaghetti squash in the oven or microwave. I chose to microwave our squash to cut down on the prep time for a weeknight meal.
We may add some ground beef or turkey next time to make the sauce a little more chunky, but all in all, it was a very good dish, and we highly recommend giving it a try for an easy weeknight meal!

22 Weeks
22 Weeks - Thursday, January 13th
{11 inches from head to heel, almost 1 pound, length of a spaghetti squash}
We are 22 weeks along today, and Baby Moss has been a very active boy this past week! I felt him move for the first time last Friday, and he has been busy moving around ever since. What an amazing feeling!

While it was freezing outside this weekend, we started working hard to get the nursery ready to paint and decorate. We just added a fan and the Moss family rocking chair.
We also just received a wedding present that is perfect for the nursery, and is actually one of Liz Landgren's paintings!
We are ready to head to Market to {hopefully} find the perfect crib! Isn't this one just beautiful...
Moving on...Baby Moss received two wonderful handmade Christmas presents from his grandmothers {Honey and Lala} this year - he is already spoiled!

Nursery {Part 2}
My dear husband gave me the BEST Christmas gift - one of Liz Landgren's paintings from This Funky Junky! Now I just have to decide what I want, and I am very indecisive by nature. I need your help!
I have posted a few of Liz's paintings from her blog below - which do you like the best? If you have a favorite, please let me know!

21 Weeks
21 Weeks - Thursday, January 6th
{10 1/2 inches from head to heel, 3/4 pound, length of a carrot}
Baby Moss is finally starting to show a little! I haven't felt the baby move just yet {that I know of anyway}, so I hope to feel him moving around soon...
My sweet sister-in-law passed along a great recipe last weekend for a homemade spagetti sauce {that just so happens to contain a carrot in honor of Baby Moss}! The Simple Bolognese sauce by Giada de Laurentiis is super easy and you will never need to buy Prego again. I made up a batch last weekend and put it in the freezer for an easy weeknight supper!

Happy New Year!
The Barefoot Contessa banana crunch muffins were a hit on New Year's morning!! I cooked them a little longer than the recipe stated; otherwise, I followed the recipe as directed. I highly recommend them, especially if you are a fan of banana bread, coconut, and granola.
2010 was a year we will never forget. Just a summary of the highlights of 2010 for the Moss family:
January 4, 2010 - I started my new job with a family office as the controller. It has been a great transition for my career, and I am very blessed to work with an outstanding team.
April 24, 2010 - I married the man of my dreams, Walker Moss. The wedding was everything I hoped it would be and more!
April 25, 2010 - May 1, 2010 - After the wedding, we went to the Royal Hideaway in Playacar, Mexico for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful week of sun and relaxation!
Summer 2010 - We were fortunate enough to make several trips to the beach this Summer!
September 12, 2010 - The day we found out that we are expecting!
September 25, 2010 - Dinner to share the news with the grandparents. Mom helped me set the table outside for dinner, and had no idea it was such a special occasion :). I wish my table always looked this fancy!
December 25, 2010 - We are having a boy! Little boys are so much fun, we are very blessed!
December 31, 2010 - Our third annual dinner at Chez Fon Fon to ring in the new year. Well, we didn't exactly ring in the new year, but dinner was fantastic as usual.
