34-36 Weeks and More!

We are moving right along, and the baby will be here before we know it!  I just hope we have a name picked out before he arrives :).  I'm starting to slow down a little, but I certainly have a lot left to do before he comes into the world.  I started my weekly doctors appointments on Tuesday and I am just one centimeter dialiated as of now.  She gave us no indication that the baby would be here early or late, so we are not anticipating his arrival until around May 18th.  However, after a trip to Buy Buy Baby this weekend, we will be ready and waiting for him!

34 Weeks - Thursday, April 7th
{18 inches from head to heel, about 4 3/4 pounds - about the size of a cantaloupe}

35 Weeks - Thursday, April 14th
{over 18 inches from head to heel, about 5 1/4 pounds - about the size of a honeydew melon}

36 Weeks - Thursday, April 21st
{8 1/2 inches from head to heel, almost 6 pounds - about the size of a crenshaw melon}

We had our baby shower earlier this month, and it was such a wonderful day.  My sweet friends did an amazing job of everything, I could not have asked for anything more.  It was perfect!  A sneak peak of the morning...

How creative is this candy station of sweet treats...gummy bears, peppermint patties, and twizzlers...one of my favorite parts of the day.  Although all of the goodies are now gone :), I think I may fill the left over baggies for the nurses and visitors at the hospital.

Everyone wrote such sweet notes to hang on the dogwood branches!

Mom's gift was a hit at the shower!  She is super talented, we are so very lucky!  I can't wait to see the little man all wrapped up in his pea in the pod!

All of my sweet friends who were gracious enough to host the shower for us!  I cannot thank you all enough for such a special day!
Lastly, I have made just a few more onesies for the little man and am working on a couple more ideas!  I would love to hear your ideas for more...they are so fun to make!

We are celebrating our first anniversary on Sunday - my how the time flies!  Happy Easter!

Another Slice of Life

Just kidding Mom, I'm certainly not going into business anytime soon!  With a full time job and a new baby on the way, I am sure I will barely have time to think in the months to come.

I recently decided it was about time to learn to sew given that I'm the daughter of an amazing seamstress {check out the real A Slice of Life website here}.  I may never have her skills, but it has been fun to try!  Therefore, I signed up for a beginner sewing class at The Smockingbird and learned how to make two basic baby outfits.

These were my first two outfits made during the class.  The first dress was made for our neice Lillie and the bubble is for Baby Moss.

I decided our other young neices needed fun outfits for Christmas too, so I made this little dress for our niece Mary Walker...

...and this bubble for our neice Alex.  I love the pink gingham buttons on this outfit!

My favorite part may have been choosing the fabrics for the dresses and bubbles, and I think this excitement over fabric and buttons may keep me going back for more!

Mom also picked up this leaf scarf pattern at the knit shop around the corner, and with Mom's help, I finally finished!  Just in time for all this winter weather...

If you are interested in knitting one too, the pattern is free on the Spud and Chloe website here.
