Thanksgiving and 7 Months (going on 8)

Where has the last 7 months gone?!  It seems like every time I update my blog {and pat myself on the back}, it's way past time to do it again.  Life has been crazier than ever before, but I know that being "busy" is just part of it.  'Tis the season!

Little man is growing up quickly.  We have been eating food for about a month now, but still no finger foods.  I gave him a yogurt melt last week, and you should have seen his face...GROSS!  It is quite refreshing {sometimes} to know what they are thinking!  I just wish it was the same when he was crying, I still have a hard time determining why.

Over the Thanksgiving break, we had pictures taken of Webber in his christening gown made by Lala.  It was a huge success, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with Holland.  She was wonderful and I highly recommend her!

On Thanksgiving day, we made our annual trip to the Jones Place in Perry County where little man got to visit with his great-grandmother Tootie along with his sweet cousins from Tuscaloosa! It was great to be with family, even for just a few hours.

We then continued our pilgrimage down to the beach where we were able to relax for the rest of the weekend. Thanksgiving is quickly becoming my favorite holiday of the year and the beach is where it's at on Thanksgiving weekend!

I was up EARLY every morning with Webber {like, before the sun came up}, but at least I was able to actually see the beautiful sunrise each morning...

The weather was fantastic.  I have learned that you never go to the beach without flip flops, shorts and a bathing suit, no matter what time of year.  I actually put on all three at least once over the weekend!  It was warm enough to sit in the sun and catch some rays, but not nearly warm enough to get into the water {unless you are under the age of 9 and/or from the North}.  There were plenty of kiddos jumping around in the water while their parents watched from shore bundled all up in a sweater.  That's a good sign that it's probably too cold to venture in :).

Webber had his 7 month milestone on December 15th.  This picture was the best I could do by myself, I just couldn't get that hand out of his mouth!  But, it's an accurate reflection of where we are these days, or at least where his hands are at all times.  We were able to get rid of the pacifier without a problem, but his hands are not going anywhere anytime soon...

Big Day

Guess who turned 6 months old today?!

Webber just started sitting up on his own and loves it.  He certainly prefers to be sitting up rather than lying down, but who wouldn't, right?  After lying on his back for six months, it's time to see the world from a different point of view!

We also gave him rice cereal for the first time over the weekend, and he couldn't get enough.  I had no idea what I was getting into myself, what a mess!  We obviously need to invest in a plastic bib...

Is it too early to start planning his first birthday party?  If the next six months go by as quickly as the first, I better get started!

We are looking forward to spending time with our families next week for Thanksgiving!  We have lots of birthdays to celebrate..Lala, Big Toot, and Aunt Katherine...so we will be sure to eat an extra piece of cake on Thanksgiving to properly honor everyone's birthday!

Halloween and Such...

Moo!  Webber's first Halloween was a success!  He was such a good sport while we dressed him up and took tons of pictures of him in his little costume.  We had a short window of time to enjoy him as a moo cow, as he has started to get sleepy early...

He has started to sit up a little but will topple over like Humpty Dumpty in a matter of seconds.  With each day, he gets more and more curious and alert, and certainly wants to put anything and everything in his mouth.  Thank goodness for Sophie!

Webber will be six months old next week!  Our little one is growing up way too fast!

5 Months and A Ruler

Young Webber turned 5 months old on Saturday!  He is getting more and more curious as each day goes by.  He reaches out to touch anything he can get his hands on and proceeds to put it in his mouth if at all possible.  We are loving toys, rattles, our Sophie (thank you Amanda!), and of course, our hands.

We decided it was about time to memorialize Webber's growth with a homemade gigantic ruler.  It was super easy to make and is the perfect new addition to his nursery.

Young Webber recently met two important characters around Alabama - Big Al and Aubie.  He handled himself much better than most of the other kiddos who were terrified of both.  Webber was much more interested in his whiskers!

Webber's Baptism

Big weekend for the Moss family!  Webber just turned four months old and was baptized at St. Lukes Episcopal today. We had family in town all weekend, and had a blast celebrating such a wonderful and special occasion in young Webber's life.  He has been a good sport all weekend, and is now exhausted.  Hopefully that means he will sleep very well for Mom and Dad well tonight!

Webber was baptized by Rich Webster at St. Lukes who also married us less than 2 years ago.  Little man slept through the whole service and woke up just in time to be baptized - perfect timing.  His beautiful gown was handmade by his grandmother Lala and was also worn my me and Uncle Alex when we were baptized.

Webber finally met his Great Grandmother Tootie today too!  She was so sweet to come see us all the way from Selma today.  We love you Toot!

Big day for such a little man who couldn't stay awake for one more picture.  He is snuggled in his Dad's arms like a peanut!  We are so excited to have such wonderful godparents for Webber - Forrest and Laurahelen.

Are you Pinning?

Pinterest is overly addictive; however, easily justified by all the great ideas available on the site.  If you are not pinning, you should be!  Give it a browse today, and you just might see something like this...

Just may be the funniest picture I have ever seen.  I don't think Webber can pull this off for his first Halloween, but we are already thinking about something fun.  Any ideas?  Please share!

The latest...

We are gearing up for a busy fall full of football {Hotty Toddy!}, weekends with family, a few baptisms {including Webber's}, and holidays.  Now at 15 weeks, Young Webber is sleeping almost 12 hours a night and is no longer swaddled.  Major steps in the Moss household, if we can now just catch up on our own sleep!
We haven't really learned how to smile for the camera yet, currently working on that; nevertheless, little man is still handsome, and is growing like a weed!

PS - Apparently, there is a fox running around the Heights.  Check him out just one street over from us.  He may or may not have been sighted in Webber's swing tonight around dusk....

A day in the life of Webber

Since starting back work two weeks ago, life has been anything but normal, if there is such a thing.  We are still trying to settle into our daily routine and our mornings seem to improve every day.  In the past three weeks, young Webber has started sleeping over 8 hours at night (score!), started school, caught a fever and missed a few days of school, scratched his face (his hands are covered up tonight), and seen lots of family including Lala, Alice and almost all of his aunts, uncles and cousins (we miss our Tuscaloosa family)!

First Day of School

Our first day to school was a success!  We both made it just fine and are ready to give it a try again tomorrow!

More on our trip to Innerarity soon!

Innerarity

Webber's first trip to the beach has been successful...so far!  It's good for everyone to have a change of scenery every now and then, even if you are only two months old.  Innerarity has always been a special place to our family, and I hope this is the first of many trips for Webber.  This is just the start of many more special memories to come...

Winding down for the night with Brown Bear Brown Bear {thank you Mr. and Mrs. Sasser!}...
